Obituary of Cyril Junior Gibbons

Our Dad, Cyril Junior Gibbons, passed away peacefully Friday June 13 at the age of 77, with his loving wife, our amazing mother, Beverley, at his side. We are saddened but filled with fond and loving memories. Left to cherish his life are his wife, Beverley, son Jeff (Kelly) and daughter Lori (Shannon), as well as his 4 most treasured grandsons, Brett (Brianna), Christopher, Scott and Adam. And not to forget his little white Buddy. He had a large circle of brothers- in-law, sisters-in law, cousins, nieces, nephews and his many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Donald & Irene Gibbons. Dad grew up in Lumsden, NL and at the early age of 17 he chased work to Labrador City; mom quickly followed and they settled here to raise their family. He worked with the Mine for 30 years and always had a positive attitude towards hard work. He built many strong friendships throughout those years. After his well deserved retirement his health gave him many challenges with his mobility, but he always had his head held up, a smile on his face and a story to tell. He lived out his days with the joy brought from his family and close friends. He would always say ‘one day at a time, sweet Jesus’ Funeral service will be held at 11:00am, on Tuesday June 17th, 2025, at the Carol United Church with Reverend Deepak officiating. The interment will be private and we are requesting no flowers at his service. Over the next several days, feel free to come share his stories at our family home.
