Obituary of Willis Richard Pike

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Willis Richard Pike announce his passing on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, at the long-term care unit of the Labrador West Health Center at the age of 73 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Joan Ann Pike; son Richard (Lori Fleming); grandson Nathan, who he dearly loved; daughter Lisa (Rodney Quinton); sister Daphne Ward; brother Hayward (Judy) Pike; sisters-in-law Monica (Wince) Parsons and Sandra (Robert) Watson; brother-in-law Michael Day; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Willis was predeceased by his parents Irving and Mae Pike of Charleston Bonavista Bay, NL; brother Melvin Pike; sister-in-law Hay; brothers-in-law Abraham Ward, and John Day. Willis was born on March 17, 1952, in Charleston Bonavista Bay. He moved to Labrador City in 1967 at the age of 14. He started his job with the Iron Ore Company of Canada in 1973. In 1974 he met the love of his life Joan. They later married and raised a family together. Friends and family may visit from 7:00-9:00pm at Temple's Funeral Home on Sunday, September 28th, 2025. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, September 29th, 2025, at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Labrador City with Reverend Rowena Payne officiating. Interment to follow. The family would like to thank Dr. Hans and all the nursing staff of the Labrador West Health Center. Also special thanks to the environmental services, cafeteria, and kitchen staff for all their kindness and support while Willis was a resident.
