Obituary of Paul Peters
It is with broken hearts that we have to announce the sudden passing of Paul Peters, an amazing brother, uncle, father figure, and friend who left us way too early on November 20th at the age of 60. Paul was born in Newfoundland but had made Labrador City his home since 1980. He loved his community dearly, but it was mostly the people that made Labrador City his home.
Paul loved his family; he was the glue that kept us all together and all in line. He was our father figure for many years; we depended on him for so much. He loved his family more than anything and cherished his friendship with Samuel for many years. He also loved his pets dearly, Archie and Sapphire.
He worked at Altimax for many years, forming many friendships with the people he dealt with daily. Paul was a person who told you exactly how it was, so there were no back doors to him; he was straight to the point. There is no one quite like Paul Peters, whether you knew him from his work, his love for the Toronto Maple Leafs, or his soft serve reviews. He had made a mark on this community and will be missed dearly by many.
His loss has had a huge impact on the many people who loved him. Paul will be missed forever by his best friend, travel companion, and camping buddy Samuel, his sisters Daphne (Roger) and Dawn (Ryan), his brother Denis (Debby), nephews Brandon (Kelly) and Jacob, nieces Abigail (Dylan), Bailey, Mackenzie, Ebony, and Kassandra (Jordan), and the precious Smith girls.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Otto and Ruby Peters, and his twin sister, Paula.
Paul’s final resting place will be in Port Rexton, next to his twin sister.
Family and friends may visit from 2:00pm-4:00 p.m. and 7:00pm-9:00 p.m. on December 11th, 2025, at Temple's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on December 12th at the Catholic Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The service will be live streamed on Temple's Funeral Home facebook page for family and friends who are away.
With love and gratitude,
The Peters Family.
