Obituary of Sarah Jane Ivany

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the Late Sarah Ivany announce her passing on January 20, 2026, at the age of 91 years. Left to mourn with many cherished memories are her children, Florence (Frank), Neil, Keith, Karen (Maurice), Beverly (Trevor), and Glenn (Darlene); grandchildren, Frankie (Susan), Trina (Keith), Melanie (Dwayne), Amber, Shane (Samantha), Ashley, and Emma; great-grandchildren, Gordon, Sydney, Gabriel, Leah, Landon, and Seth; her beloved baby brother Kevin Froude (Linda); sister-in-law Ivy Ivany; brother-in-law Doug Ivany (Lilly); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Sarah was predeceased by her loving husband Harold John Ivany; parents, William and Caroline Froude; sisters Edna and Ellie; and brother Baby Boy Froude. Sarah, along with her husband Harold, put down roots in the very early days, making her Wabush’s oldest resident. She spent her days doing what she loved the most, raising her family and loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and family may visit from 7:00-9:00 pm at Temple’s Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22, 2026. A private final farewell and interment will be held for the family. Anyone wishing to express their sympathy may do so by making a donation to Faith’s Haven in Sarah’s memory. The family would like to send thanks to the nurses and staff of the Labrador West Health Center Long-Term Care Unit, and to those who have reached out to the family in any way.
