Obituary of Archibald Clarke
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Archibald Clarke announce his passing on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Labrador West Health Center, at the age of 74.
Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories, his wife, Brenda (nee Turpin); daughter Tammy; son-in-law Rob; grand puppy Spencer; sons Christopher, Jeffer; grandson Jordon; niece Shelley (Clarke) Nochasak and sister Mary Kirby (Epworth, NL). As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives, and friends.
Arch was predeceased by his parents Adam & Matilda (Baker) Clarke, in-laws Bernard & Madeline (Stapelton) Turpin, 4 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 special nephew.
Arch loved to spend time at his cabin at DeMille, and he logged many hours walking back and forth the road, clearing snow to make sure he and the rest of the cabin owners could get into their cabins when they came down. He would then turn in for the evening, pack the wood stove full, lay back in his recliner to get comfortable to watch a Montreal game or dateline and he wouldn’t be there long before he would be snoozing from the fresh air that day and well, mostly of the heat because the stove was burning red because it was that full, but that’s what he enjoyed, relaxing at his cabin that he was proud to have.
Friends and family may visit from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm on Thursday, March 19th, 2026, at Temple’s Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 20th, 2026, at Carol United Church, Labrador City with Reverend Deepak officiating.
A sincere thank you to family and friends for their support during this difficult time. To Dr. Armstrong and staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center in St. John’s for being so prompt getting his treatments setup and being so caring and patient. To Dr. Costello, Ronnie Alexander and the oncology staff at the Labrador West Health Center, being the caring group you are goes along way when families are going through such hard times.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family, and they will make a donation to the charity of their choice in memory of Arch.
In every memory, we keep a piece of you alive, forever etched in our hearts.
