Obituary of Francis (Frank) Fowler
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis (Frank) Fowler announce his passing on Monday, March 23rd, 2026, at the age of 72. Frank was a member of one of the pioneer families of Labrador City.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his son David Fowler; grandchildren Emily Fowler, Hazel Fowler, and Ryan Broomfield; brothers Albert (Pauline) Fowler, Ralph (Mary) Fowler; sisters Clare Spurvey, Eleanor Fowler (Cliff Winsor), Christine Budgell (Harold); sister-in-law Phyllis Fowler; as well as many members of the Shelley family and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Francis and Sadie Fowler; and wife Catherine (Kay) Fowler; mother-in-law Veronica Shelley; Bernard Fowler, Marie and Patrick Walsh, Lawerence Fowler, Theresa and Albert Marche, Gerry and Theresa Fowler, Harold Fowler, Justin and Lynda Fowler, Albert Spurvey and many loved members of Kay's family.
In his early years Frank was an avid basketball coach, player and referee. He was also a nationally certified softball umpire for many years. Frank worked as a millwright mechanic for 34 1/2 years prior to his retirement.
Family and friends may visit from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Temple's Funeral Home on Monday, March 30th, 2026. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday March 31st, 2026, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Wabush. Funeral will be live streamed from Temple's Funeral Home facebook page. The family is requesting no flowers at this time.
Special thanks to the amazing staff and all the support services of the long-term care unit of the Labrador West Health Center. Frank was a resident there for over five years and he was treated like it was his "home". He was loved by all. Thank you to all our family and friends for your love and support.
