Obituary of Kai Bailey Sutton

It is with shattered hearts that the family of the late Kai Sutton announce his sudden passing on May 6th, 2026, at the young age of 35. Left to mourn with many memories are his parents Beverly (Trevor) Flynn, and Gary (Tina) Sutton; brothers Gabe, Steven (Tanaya, Cohen, Russell), and Michael; grandparents Lillian Sutton, and Daisy Dowding; his pup Goose; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends. Kai was predeceased by his grandparents Auston Sutton, William (Bill) Dowding, Patrick & Eileen Shanks, and Douglas Flynn. There will be a tribute to Kai at Smokey Mountain Ski Club on Monday, May 11th, 2026, from 5-9pm. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. As expression of sympathy a donation can be made to Mission Kitty, Fatihs Haven, or SPCA Goose Bay in his memory. From St.John's, NL to the Arctic Circle to Yellowknife and back to the Torngate Mountains in Labrador, (Gypsy) Kai was everywhere and left a mark on the souls of every person he met that will not easily be forgotten. An Advanced Care Paramedic, a Welder, a Heavy Equipment Operator, a Ski Patroller, a Bartender, a Handyman, a Dreamer and most of all a "Doer". He took "Living Larger than Life" to a whole new level. Everyone knew of Kai's love for the outdoors, adventure & good company, but nothing in his world matched his love for his family, his friends and his dog Goose. Kai will be remembered for the way he lived life - with humour, loyalty, adventure, and a genuine care for the people around him. Whether he was working as a paramedic, welder, teacher, helping on the ski hill, spending time outdoors, fixing or building something with his hands, or sharing a laugh with friends, Kai brought warmth and ease wherever he went. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable loss; the memories, laughter, and kindness he gave so freely will continue to live on in everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A239-25 Signing off......
