Obituary of Jackie McGrath

With heavy hearts felt far and wide we mourn the tremendous loss of Jackie McGrath at the age of 60. A beacon of strength and love, Jackie was peacefully relieved of her battle with cancer on December 4th, in the arms of the love of her life, her husband Fred McGrath. Jackie’s impact on this earth will be felt eternally. The immensity of her generosity and compassion has been an inspiration to her family, friends, and community, and though she is gone, her spirt will live on in all of us. Those who knew Jackie will forever know the importance of kindness, of enjoying all the beauty of life, and of being there for those we love. Left behind to honour her memory are her husband Fred, daughters Madison (Matt) and Jessica (Jordan), step daughter Stevie, grandchildren Loxley and Oaklyn, brothers Hayward (Darlene) , Wade (Brenda), and Gerard (Kay), sister Marilyn (Randy), Mother in-law Ida Mcgrath, an extensive family of in-laws, nieces and nephews, and a vast community of friends devoted to her, as she was to them. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Della Rumbolt of Main Brook, and Father in-law Leo Mcgrath. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, December 6 2024 at the Catholic Church in Labrador City. Special thanks to the nurses and health care staff of Labrador West Health Care Centre, to our special nurse sisters, and to our community who fed and supported us all during our darkest hours.
