Obituary of Mae Hamel

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Miriam Mae Hamel announce her passing. Mae passed peacefully on January 9th, 2025, at the Labrador West Health Center at the age of 74 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Boyd Hamel, and Brian (Jennifer) Hamel; grandchildren Gavin Hamel, Briana Hamel, Garrett Hamel; great-granddaughter Lynelle Nui-Hamel; special friend Wendy (Dave) Taylor; brothers David, Gerald, Eugene, Harold, and Albert; sisters Bernice, Edna, and Ann; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mae was predeceased by her husband James McLean; parents Samson and Sarah Hamel; brothers Bill, Robert, Timothy; sister Viola (Dave). Friends and family may visit at Temple's Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm on Sunday January 12th, 2025. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at Glad Tiding Pentecostal Church in Labrador City with Pastor Shannon Meade officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed from Temple's Funeral Home Facebook page. Mae loved the outdoors, and spending time around the campfire at her camper. Although she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, she is now reunited with husband James. Special thank you to the doctors and nurses you took care of her while in the hospital, friends and family that messaged and called, and to Temple's Funeral Home, Pastor Shannon Meade and Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church.
