Obituary of David Wayne Bursey
It is with great sadness that the family of the late David Wayne Bursey announce his passing on February 1, 2023, at the age of 48.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Carolyn; children, Mitchell and Meredith (and Maggie the dog); parents, Wayne and Donna; brothers, Stephen, Paul (Kim); sister Mandy (Lars); sister-in-law, Cheryl (Justin); brothers-in-law, Carlson ( Andrea) and Colin (Jackie); nieces and nephews, Gracie, Rachel, Henry, Mia, Ethan, Noah, Brianna, Erin and Gillian, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
David was born in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL and was raised in Labrador City. In his early years, David worked as a hunting and fishing guide. He often recounted stories of all the people he met and the fish they caught. In 2003, David started working at the Iron Ore Company of Canada, having various roles over the years. He enjoyed his career, especially all the people he met along the way. David loved everything outdoors, especially skidooing, fishing, and spending time at the cabin with his family and many friends. His greatest love was for his two children, Mitchell and Meredith and his wife, Carolyn. David was a kind, generous and loving man who always had a smile and he will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Funeral Service will be held on February 9th, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Catholic Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with Reverend Rowena Payne officiating. A celebration of life to follow at the O’Brien Hall at 6:00pm.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Mitchell and Meredith’s education fund.
