Obituary of Doris Vera Hall

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doris Hall announce her passing on Wednesday May 10th at Carbonear General Hospital at the age of 86. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter Donna (Sean) Hiscock; sons Robert (Christine) Hall, and Derrick (Jeanie) Hall; grandchildren David Hall (Julia), Amanda Lula (Mark), Steven Hall (Caitlin), Nathan Hall, Matthew Branton (Sunehra), Mark Branton, Leah Pollard; great-grandchildren Wesley Hall, Howard Hall, Katie Lula, Kenzie Lula; sister-in-law Rita Hall & family; brother-in-law Hubert Hall (Marie) & family. Doris was predeceased by her husband Bob Hall; daughter Sandra Branton; parents Bob & Jane (nee Newman) Steele; sisters Majorie, Ollie, and Ann. Doris was born in Northern Bay, NL, on the 16th of September, 1936. She spent the majority of her life in Labrador City, where she built a great life and a beautiful family. She loved to play cards and enjoyed a good dance with her friends. She always looked forward to having her family over for lunch, where they all knew they were welcome for a feed of toutons. One of the most patient, soft spoken people you'd ever meet, Doris wouldn't say a bad word about anybody and had nothing but love for her family and friends. Family and friends may visit at Temple's Funeral Home from 6:00-9:00pm on Sunday May 14th. Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Monday May 15th at the Carol United Church with The Rev. S. Dean Sellars officiating. Interment to follow at the Labrador City Cemetery. The service will be live streamed from the Carol United Church facebook page. The family would like to send a special thank-you to the staff and friends of Lane's Retirement Home in Carbonear, NL and the Medical Staff of Carbonear General Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that a dontation be made to the Carol United Church Memorial Fund in Doris Halls memory. If you would like to send EFT you may send to David (dhall5404@gmail.com) and he will forward to the church on your behalf.
