It is with deep sadness, with her loving family by her side, we announce the passing of Jean Hounsell at the Labrador Health Center in Labrador City. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughters, Jolynn(Bill) Randell, Karen(Dereck) Lewis, Paula Hounsell, Michelle(Toby) Myles; ten grandchildren, Dereck, Megan(Wendy), Zachary, Owen, Mikaela, Noah, Devin, Jadyn, Rachel and Austin; two great-granddaughters, Peyton and Paisley; brothers Roy(Maisie) Butler, and Cyril(Audrey) Butler; sister Claudine Ricketts; a special niece Francine Ricketts; very special friend Jo Anne Lush; as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jean was predeceased by the love of her life, Clyde; her parents Edmund and Elizabeth Butler; sisters Naomi Tripp and Peggy Duffett; and a large number of brothers and sisters-in-law.
Being a pioneer of Labrador City for 60 years, anyone who knew Jean, knew her for her infectious smile and witty personality, but most of all for her love for her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may visit at Temple's Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. In loving memory of our mom:
Of all the special gifts in life, however great or small, to have you as our mom was the greatest gift of all. A special time, a special face, a special mom we cannot replace. With aching hearts, we whisper low, we miss you mom and love you so.
Love Jolynn, Karen, Paula, and Michelle
In loving memory of nanny Jean:
Such wonderful memories of nanny. The nanny we use to know. We kept you too long and there waiting. The angels have said you can go. Bright golden gates that are shining. Full of family to bid you hello. So, blow us a kiss as you're leaving, our sadness we'll try not to show. Such wonderful memories of nanny. we all have our favorites you see. As you enter those gates, you'll be thinking "They're all thinking of me."
Love Dereck, Megan, Zachary, Owen, Mikaela, Noah, Devin, Jadyn, Rachel, Austin, Peyton, and Paisley
