Obituary of Barry Gordon Abbott

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Barry Abbott announces his passing, after a lengthy battle of cancer, on April 19, 2024 at the Labrador West Health center at the age of 66. Barry died peacefully surrounded by his family. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his cherished wife of 46 years, Paulette and his sons Andrew (Sandra) and Colin (Laura). Grandkids, who were the center of his world,Hunter; Oliver; Bridget; and Eric. Mother; Vera, Brothers; Perry (Debra) and Anthony. Mother-inLaw Olive King. Brother-in-law Lloyd King (Shawna). Sisters-in-Law, Brenda Winsor (Tim); Rudy Barnes (Phil); Gale Pimentel (Tim). As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father, Gordon Abbott and his father-in-law, Lloyd King. Barry will be remembered for his love of his grandchildren, fishing, woodworking and going to the cabin. Barry volunteered his time with organizations like White Snowmobile Club and was so contented when he was driving the groomer. Special thanks to our many close friends who have helped so much in the last few years when Barry was sick. And thanks to the staff at Labrador West Health Center who went above and beyond. Funeral Service will be held on April 24th at 3pm from the Anglican Church with Rev Rowena Payne officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Labrador West Hospital Auxiliary, an organization that he spent many hours volunteering with. (contact Violet Tarrant 709-944-1362)
