Charles Pafford

Obituary of Charles Maxwell Derek Pafford

Born in Corner Brook, NL, he moved with his family to Labrador City when his father Max was an early hire of the newly created Iron Ore Company of Canada. He worked at IOCC in a variety of roles for many years, before retiring to Burton, NB in 2009. Charlie, or Charl, as he was known to everyone, was a passionate reader, continuing the family tradition of cheering for the Maple Leafs, and was an avid golfer before retirement, who contributed to the upkeep of the Tamarack Golf Club for many years. He was always ready for a conversation and a laugh with anyone, as many of the stories received since his passing have confirmed. Charlie is predeceased by his father Max, mother Betty (nee Lush), and aunt Valetta, and is survived by his wife Patsy, son Robert, step-daughters Denise (passed 2022), Wendy, and Bonnie, step-granddaughter Willow, sisters Judy and Joann, nephew Michael, niece Michelle, great nieces Veletta and Vanessa, aunt Derrice and uncle William (Bill), and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Pafford and Lush families. A Celebration of Life is to come later in the summer of 2024. In lieu of flowers, you can donate in Charlie's name to the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en/), or the MLSE Foundation (https://www.mlsefoundation.org/).
