To Judy, David, Beverly and families We are so sorry and saddened to hear of Ivan’s passing, He was truly a wonderful man - always with a twinkle in his eye….and a hug for me (Betty). We enjoyed the many meals we had at your home when we were in Labrador City. You both made us feel so welcomed. It’s a comfort to know that he is now with his Lord, but he will be greatly missed by those left behind. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Aunt Judy, Dave, Beverly and family, Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the sudden passing of Uncle Ivan. We all have fond childhood memories of family get togethers, summer vacations and camping. This past summer our kids were blessed to have spent time with him. Greyson really enjoyed when he played guitar and Uncle Ivan accompanied him on the harmonica. He certainly loved music! His memory will forever live on in your hearts and others as well. I am so sad for all of you, I hope you take some comfort in your memories of Uncle Ivan. I remember him as a loving uncle, always so happy to see us. From visits home when I was growing up to chance meetings in Grand Falls that lead to a few Newfie wannabes kissing a cod! I am so blessed that I was able to spend some time with him, Aunt Judy and my beautiful cousin Bev a few months ago, I will always remember that visit and our laughs, such an amazing time I will cherish. I am thinking of you all as you say goodbye to your husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend. Rest easy Uncle, I love you. Love to Aunt Judy, David, Bev and all your family and friends. Sandy

Our deepest condolences to Judy, David, Beverly and family on Ivan’s passing. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time. When I think of Ivan, I always remember the time at the CWJM Hospital when I went to get in my car to go home for lunch, a lot of snow had fallen, and our cars were covered. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked and saw that Ivan came to wipe the snow off Judy’s car for her. This goes to show the kind of man he was. Take care to you all. Cheryl and Ken Whitten

Judy and family We are still in shock that Ivan left us so quickly. We enjoyed getting to know him over the years as he joined the Young clan. Friendly, compassionate and caring always ready for a bit of fun. May our spirit find comfort in knowing Ivan has reached the GOAL that we have been taught all of our lives, to obtain a seat in Heaven to live, walk , talk and worship the Maker of our very being. We are so sorry to hear of Ivan’s brief illness and sudden passing. It only seems like yesterday that we were sitting around the campfire in Beachside and laughing at his jokes. He loved to tell jokes to make others laugh and he enjoyed dressing up as he did to screech in my wife’s family from Calgary. My mother in law still laughs as she recalls Ivan in his fisherman’s waterproofs trying to convince her to kiss a cod. He had a special way of making people relax and feel comfortable. I remember many times staying at dad’s house when Ivan would willingly take on breakfast duties making bologna, bacon and eggs. He loved to serve up a feast! His real love was for his family. He loved talking about his sweetheart, Beverly, and his pride of his son, David. Ivan married the love of his life and one could sense his affection in the nicknames he had for Judy. We were privileged to have such a gentle giant in our family and he will be sorely missed by all of us. Paul and Stephanie Young London, England

Judy and Family , Condolences from our family to yours . I’ve known Ivan since coming here in the early 70s . I remember him coming to my room in the bunkhouse , and being just young men , lots of times we needed words of wisdom from one of the pillars of our church , so we would go and have a talk with uncle Eli Freake , which was Ralph’s dad . Ivan had only become a new Christian in our youth group , and he had lots of questions that I certainly couldn’t answer . That was over 50 years ago , and through it all , he’s finally home . Treasure all your wonderful memories , and look forward to that glad reunion day . In our thoughts and prayers .
