Jean and family: We were so sorry to hear of Hayward’s recent passing. We have been thinking about you and the family in these last days and weeks and have been bringing you to God in prayer. We pray that you would sense God’s comfort, love, peace and strength. We remember fondly, the beautifull, precious memories we have of our time in Lab city /wabush corps getting to know you, Hayward and your beautiful family. Hayward was the first person who greeted us at the Quarters when we arrived in lab city in 1993. We pray you will sense God‘s love and peace and comfort and strength in these days. Remember to rely on God‘s faithfulness, He will never fail you or forget you. Hayward has received his promotion to glory and is now in the presence of his Lord and Saviour whom he loved and serve so well. Jean and family, Sadden to hear of Hayward’s passing. I remember the many times we shared lunch together and talked about faith, family and life in general. Sorry to hear the news of Hayward’s passing. We moved to Lab. City in 1973 and Hayward and Jean were two of the first we met at the Corps. He was always there for support and encouragement, for whoever. Hayward was Mr. Salvation Army, always there to help in any way to see the Corps grow, and certainly to do what he could with the young people. We certainly had Hayward’s blessing when we went to the Training College in 1985. Hayward sent us some pictures when they started renovations on the Sanctuary; he was so excited that good things were happening! He was fully dedicated to God and the Army. It was always good to see them each time we went back to the Corps. Our last visit we went up to Hayward’s worksite and had a great conversation. Hayward loved to reminisce over so many things. I can see his lovely smile as we were leaving, and hear him say “God is so good.” Jean, I know you will remain faithful to the Lord, and be assured of our Love and Prayers during these difficult days. I know the children and grandchildren has lots of precious memories; cherish them in your heart and these will get you through each day. God bless you all! Rex and Catherine Paddock

To Jean and Family, condolences to you all. Hayward taught me in Grade 7. I remember him telling us about his mother boiling fish and how the liqueur it was being cooked in and the skin were very sticky, and how they should use it for making glue. Well, it happened because today, certain glues are made from certain parts of fish.
